Peanut Crunch Cookie

Ingredients:
1 cup shortening
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup chopped peanuts
(if plain 1 cup peanut butter, plain or
peanut butter is used)
crunchy
1 tablespoon water
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Cream shortening with sugar. Add eggs and beat in peanut butter. Add sifted dry ingredients and fold in peanuts, if used, water, and vanilla. Roll dough into small balls. Place on greased cooky sheets and press at right angles with tines of fork dipped in water. Bake in moderate oven (350°F.) 15 minutes. Yield: about
4 dozen.
