Fondue Brunch Swiss Fondue
Brunch Swiss Fondue
Ingredients: 1/2 pound shredded process Swiss
cheese (2 cups)
1.1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
Va teaspoon salt
1/8 s teaspoon dry mustard
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup buttermilk
1 clove garlic
Dry white table wine
Ham cubes
Toast croutons
Directions:
Serve this version with ham cubes and toast croutons for swirling. To complete the menu: Chilled fresh fruits or a curried compote, heated Danish pastries, and, if desired, a scrambled egg dish.
Toss cheese with cornstarch, salt, dry mustard, nutmeg, and pepper. Heat buttermilk with garlic over hot water in fondue pol or chafing dish. When hot, remove garlic and add cheese mixture Stir until cheese melts and blends smoothly.
Add heated wine gradually, about 2 tablespoons at a time, t keep fondue at dipping consistency. Serve with ham cubes an toast croutons.
