Fondue Baked Mock Fondue
Baked Mock Fondue
Ingredients: 5 egg yolks, well beaten
1/2 pound sharp American
2 cups soft, buttered bread-
cheese, grated
crumbs
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
5 egg whites, beaten stiff
Directions:
Place egg yolks, breadcrumbs, milk, cheese, salt and mustard in bowl and blend well. Add beaten egg whites, folding in gently.
Transfer to 2-quart baking dish or casserole and let stand 1 hour.
Place casserole in pan of hot water and bake in preheated 325° oven 1 hour.
Variation: For a different flavor, use wholewheat breadcrumbs.
