Fondue Cheese Fondue Pie
Cheese Fondue Pie
Ingredients: 1/4 pound (1 stick) butter
6 eggs
Pinch salt
1 1/2cups Gruyere cheese,
1 pint milk (2 cups)
grated
1 cup flour
Egg yolk
Directions:
Put butter, salt and 1 cup of the milk in heavy saucepan and bring to a boil.
Make smooth paste of the flour and other cup milk. Pour boiling milk mixture into paste, stirring continually to blend well. Return to pan and keep stirring. Break eggs into mixture, one at a time, reserving some yolks for top, stirring in between. Add all but 1 tablespoon of cheese and stir until thick and smooth and creamy.
Butter a deep pie dish and pour mixture in. Brush egg yolk over top, sprinkle with remaining tablespoon of grated cheese and bake in preheated 360° oven 30 minutes.
Can be served either hot or cold.
