Cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches

Ingredients:
slender sourdough bread, or pressed
pumpernickel bread cream cheese cucumber salt to taste paprika to taste

Directions:
Cut thin slices from a sourdough baguette, or cut slices of square pressed pumpernickel into quarters. Spread each slice rather thickly with cream cheese. Score a large, firm cucumber with a fork to give it a pretty pattern and slice it about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. Put a slice of cucumber in the center of each sandwich and salt it very lightly, then delicately sprinkle some paprika down the center of the sandwich so as to make a bright red line straight across it.
