Ingredients: 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup bran 1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup milk
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 cup melted shortening
Directions: Sift flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder together and add bran. Beat eggs. Stir in milk and melted shortening. Pour liquid into dry ingredients all at once and stir only until dry ingredients are mixed. If desired, add 1/2 cup chopped raisins. Pour into a well-greased bread pan. Bake in moderate oven (375°F.) 50 to 60 minutes. Will keep well if wrapped in wax paper when cool. Yield: 1 loaf.
