Main Course - Meat Southern Beef Stew
Southern Beef Stew
Ingredients: 2 pounds chuck beef
6 medium onions
6 medium potatoes
3 small carrots
1 teaspoon salt and pepper
2 tablespoons flour
6 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
4 tablespoons soy sauce
8 stuffed olives
Directions:
Cut meat in 2-inch pieces and place in large kettle. Cover with water and cook slowly Wi hours. Add vegetables and cook until all are tender, about 45 minutes. Thicken with flour blended with a little water. Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and olives, cut in small pieces. If soy sauce is added, use salt sparingly until soy sauce has been mixed into stew. Soy sauce contains salt. Serves 5
