Main Course - Meat Norwegian Mutton Stew
Norwegian Mutton Stew
Ingredients: 2 pounds shoulder of mutton
2 tablespoons salt 2 tablespoons cooking fat
1/8 teaspoon pepper 2 small bunches carrots
Flour
Directions:
Cut mutton in small pieces and brown in hot fat. Cover with water and simmer
1 hour. Add whole, scraped carrots, salt, and pepper. Cook, covered, until carrots are done, about 45 minutes. Thicken the gravy with flour. Serve with mashed potatoes. Serves 5.
